In preparation for National Single Parent Day on March 21st, ASPSF is releasing a new video of its beneficiaries. Below, Tikima shares her goal of not only achieving her career dreams but also helping other single parents.
“Hello, my name is Tikima Simpkins. I’m 24 years old and will be graduating in the fall, so I’m really looking forward to it.
When I graduate, I certainly plan on getting a better job, but one of my goals is to work with the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund to give back and inform other single parents. “Hey, I did it,” and they can do the same.
So this scholarship was very helpful for me. This has helped alleviate the financial stressors that many of us single parents face, especially as we try to go back to school.
I appreciate everything you have done and continue to do. Because you know that’s what it takes to be a single parent.
I just want to say thank you to everyone and thank you for believing in me. ”
