- In Arkansas, 130,000 single parents (approximately 2 in 5 households) are raising children alone.
- Thirty-five percent of single parents in Arkansas live below the poverty line, compared to just 9 percent of married parents.
- From a recent survey of ASPSF scholarship recipients:
- 66% do not receive court-ordered child support.
- 50% work full time while in school.
- 100% are food insecure.
